Food Production
There are many high yield, small scale growing techniques being developed that could solve the world’s food shortages if humanity is so inclined. Using a combination of personal food production at each workers’ cottage, communal gardens, and the overall, larger scale Hemp Town food production systems, most, if not all fruit and vegetable needs can be provided on site. Fruit and nut trees will be part of the landscaping along with native food producing plants furthering the cornucopia of delicious, natural foods on offer. With all growing methods organic, and using on site composting as fertiliser, you will know exactly what went into the food you are eating. In addition, any items required that are not grown on site such as meat, fish, and some grains will be sourced from local organic providers minimising the amount of transport involved.
One of the exciting farming methods we will work with is called syntropics. Here is a video explaining this ecosystem based farming method.
The addition of hemp-based food products from the on site hemp production will provide further nutritional benefits as well as a plethora of exciting hemp based recipes.
The food produced on site will be provided for Hemp Town residences as part of their worker’s compensation package along with all other life essentials.
